southern comforts
At last - a better documented recounting of Mudzuks and Vecais' sojourn to sunnier climes, with Mamuks, VJ and Nan along to do the requisite sherpa-ing, driving, ice-cream buying, sunscreening, etc etc. (Yeah, what a chore to go to Florida for a week in April...)
Early in the week we went to check out the gators, although it wasn't always clear who was watching whom:
And what trip to the Sunshine State would be complete without a visit to the home of the world's favourite rodent? (with the added bonus of meeting up with our friends from the Hammer, who had the courage and audacity to spend THE WHOLE WEEK in the "Kingdom!" And, although Mamuks initially approached the whole escapade with a healthy dose of alterglobalized dread, she ended up revelling in the sweet nostalgia of a place built long before the 'Princesses' were a scary sort of girl power posse [minus the power], and long before Britney earned her own ears.)
Next, a day trip to Fort DeSoto, complete with people in trees (from above and below), a bicycle built for six, fishing piers and (the ever-present) ice-cream cone. Nice wave jumping too!

A little bit of pre-dinner voguing:
And back once again to our own beach, for more wave crashers and more sandy bottoms...
